Tween/Teen Yoga for Ages 9-17
Introduction to yoga class, designed to inspire and empower students through self-expression and a sense of belonging. For most, young adulthood is an awkward, stressful time. This class is a place where the student can be part of a community specific to them. Here, learn fundamental Yoga postures in a supportive and non-competitive environment. Gain flexibility, strength and focus. Build self-esteem and learn how to reduce stress though relaxation and breath work.
Themes include body image, choosing positive thoughts and actions, and dealing with peer pressure. Healthy coping strategies and how to love ourselves by taking care of ourselves are also presented. Each class begins with an asana practice followed by relaxation & open discussion. Shay’s classes encourage students to listen to their bodies. Explore challenge (both mental and physical) as often as honoring the balance found in stillness and rest. Learn to live yoga, not only on the mats but off the mats, in day to day life.
Schedule
Hello Sweet KULA,
As you know the world has changed so much in the past month due to the pandemic that we are facing. It is time now to ask ourselves, “how we want to show up in the world?” Let’s all take a deep breath, pause for a moment. Because it is in the moments of silence where we can listen the most. Set worry and fear aside and know I am here for you. You must give yourself some grace and self-care in this time of stress. Be there for yourself, be there for others, and be here for the world! Be there for me. We all need you! See you on your mat, until we can hug heart to heart again…
Namaste,
Shay & Miss Jae
